Installation is relatively simple, but you should note that the pupil is NOT centred on the glass for a reason. If it were, there would be no adjustment for individual heads. You may find that rotating the eyes more outward looking gives a better effect, or, conversely, inward. A little experimentation is required to get the best effect.
In terms of padding behind the eyes, you can use the same polyester padding as came with your doll, or you could try a thin slice of sponge ~5mm thick. It depends very much on the head, but further experimentations should yield positive results.
